11/30/09 UPDATE: We have really, really, really sad news! We were just informed that the manufacturer of this timer went out of business . . . and there isn't any stock left--anywhere (yes, we've made the phone calls). Aside from breaking our hearts (we LOVED this timer!)--we're in the process of finding something that might replace it. A Ninth Moon top pick. We scoured the ends of the earth to come up with this perfect timer . . . and here's why every writer/speaker/parent needs one of these. It's small & portable. It's super-easy to set. It has a large, easy to read display, and flips from hours/minutes to minutes/seconds at the flick of a switch.
Here's the really great part: along with the classic timer chime, it also has a vibrate setting and a flashing light setting--or any combination of these. You can slip it into your pocket, rest it on the podium (no more asking the audience how much time you have left), or toss it on the table of that coffee-shop when doing a timed writing. You can use it to meet a daily writing goal. Or to nudge you gently awake from meditation.
But that's not all: Our little gem can lie flat, stand up or stick on your filing cabinet or refrigerator with the magnetic tab on the back.
